Over the past two days I’ve been reading the graphic novel MEKA from Magnetic Press, written by JD Moran and illustrated by Bengal. The book is about the two pilots of that staple of Japanese science fiction, the giant robot, called a Meka. Lieutenant Enrique Llamas and Corporal Ninia Onoo are the pilots of one of the white Mekas, which is badly damaged in a battle against the Western red Mekas, whose owners want to enslave the people Llamas and Onoo are trying to protect. Editorial | Follow Up Review: Clash of Clans
Many months ago, I reviewed a little mobile game called Clash of Clans, by Supercell. Since then, the game has completely exploded across mobile devices (it’s the top money making game on both iOS and Android right now) and has been imitated by many other games since its 2012 debut, including The Simpsons: Tapped Out and even the upcoming Call of Duty: Heroes.

Apparently, some are even getting very angry about the possibility that Martin may never finish the next installment. I’m saying “apparently,” because, while I’ve seen considerable speculation about these things, I’ve never seen blatant anger toward the author, nor anyone actually abusing him. However, with the amount of “counter-backlash” that is circling the internet these days to defend Martin against these possible aggressors, surely some of this does exist. Continue reading
