Heading to a convention, I glance at the program and there it is one of the last pages: this convention has a gaming room off to the side of the main exhibit halls and panel rooms. Recently I got a chance to talk to the masterminds behind some of those game rooms when Ken Beasley and Ben Hernandez sat down to tell me all about the workings of setting up a game room, and everything that goes on before and behind the scenes of a convention.

A Few Thoughts on Fan Outrage
I freely admit that bitching fanboy is a happy fanboy. In fact that is the first thing I ever said on this blog. I personally practice this on a regular basis, hence my reputation for a sunny disposition. There is, however, a limit to how much fans should become “outraged.” At what point do fans stop being the acceptable bitching fanboy and start to be something far more obnoxious and quite honestly detrimental to geeks as a whole?
To be clear, I’m not talking about the people who complain when a change is made to their favorite comic book. At ECCC, when asked what the public response was to bringing back Peter Parker, long-time Marvel writer Peter David said, “When Doc Ock took over, there were a ton of fan complaints. Now that Doc Ock is leaving, there are a ton of fan complaints.” In general, people don’t like change, and geeks are no exception. Eventually, the uproar over Spider-Man, just like with any other event, will die down and 99% of fans will either forget that the whole thing happened, or just not care. Of course there will be the diehards that won’t let it go, but the only reason the rest of us will remember them at all is by watching all the truly embarrassing YouTube videos they’ve put up. In years to come we can all sit back and laugh at their predictions of the death of the comic industry, all while we read a comic book.
Guest Blog|Dark Souls 2 review *Spoilers*
***** SPOILER ALERT *****
This review will be discussing plot points which may be considered spoilers. Consider yourselves warned.
I stood in line for about an hour waiting patiently for my copy, like a pilgrim in line to see a relic. I had pre-ordered Dark Souls 2 Black Armor Edition way back in September, and it was finally release day. The first guy to get his big box o’ goodness had no troubles, but I flinched when ALL the clerks had to head to the back to find my copy. After a minute that seemed like an eternity, they all irreverently resumed their positions after finding my copy of the game. I left the store like all the other gamers that night, with a huge box in a bag that somewhere inside held a world contained on a 180mm by 1.2mm disc. It was a world I was anxious to explore. I got home and opened my prize. There she was, right on top after opening the flap. I ripped off the cellophane and popped the disc into my PS3. The title screen, the same as the first game, allayed my fears of drastic change. In the end, this was false hope.

Editorial | Clumsy Ninja mobile game review
I recently downloaded and started playing a great little game called Clumsy Ninja. This game was actually released in November of 2013, so it isn’t brand new, but I have been having a lot of fun with it. Here is the skinny on this game.
For lack of a better category in which to place it, I have to call Clumsy Ninja an adventure game. The objective of the game is for the player to train an extremely clumsy ninja novice to jump, climb, run, and fight. The motion engine on the ninja character is incredibly lifelike for a free, downloadable app, and the training ground that is the game’s background is rendered in beautiful colors. This game is overall pretty to look at, and smooth to play. Continue reading
