Four months ago I remember talking with a local comic shop proprietor, discussing the first issue of the new Nightcrawler series being penned by Chris Claremont. Nightcrawler is the shop owner’s favorite X-Man and we are both fans of the great work Claremont did back in the day, but after the disaster that was X-Men Forever we were both rather skeptical of where this series was going. Four issues later, however, I am completely sold.

The Bird Caller, a graphic novel by J. F. Martel and Dominic Bercier, is a story told with minimal words about the last physical man on earth. The world has been decimated by a nuclear war, and the consciousnesses of all mankind have been uploaded into a hard drive called the Ark, which Dennett, the last man, is responsible to keep safe until at last he is able to leave his body behind and join them in a “digital Eden.”

If I’m being completely honest, Blackest Night was the last truly enjoyable Green Lantern storyline. Until recently I was only picking up two of the five Lantern titles that were being published and my reading of those two was fairly sporadic. Sinestro however is starting to turn change my mind.
