I don’t know what it is about coming back to day shift, but I find that I am more sleep deprived when I’m working normal hours. Due to this messed up sleep schedule, I did not make it to the gym this week. That’s not to say I wasn’t active though. I made sure that I was up and active as much as possible, at work and at home. Turns out sweeping the floors is a pretty good way to keep moving. I’ve also been watching a friend’s dog, so taking him on walks has also helped. In the end I haven’t lost any weight, but I’ve maintained my weight. Now that we have a three day weekend and I can finally get back to a normal sleep schedule, I can get back to the gym and start moving that scale lower. 39 days to NYCC and I’m looking good.

Feeling good! I’m down 5 lbs now and it’s starting to show. My pants fit a little better, which is always a plus. Weight lifting is going well too. I’ve been able to really push myself and start to make some progress. It’s not much, but considering where I started, I’m pretty pleased. I’m not going to break any records, but it’s a really great feeling to get in one more curl than last time or add ten lbs to the leg press. I’d like to get to the gym a bit more often than I have been (only 2-3 days a week) but life has been getting in the way a little bit. Come Monday however, I’m off of night shift and my house is back in order, I can go back to 3-4 days a week, which is where I’d like to be. Fifty four days to NYCC and I can’t wait!
Week 5 has come to a close and I am back in the weight lost category. I made it to the gym twice this week and adjusted back to my normal, much more sensible diet. Not only that, but it feels good. I’m down about a pound and with Les Mis rehearsals over my gym time will only increase. 68 days until NYCC and I can’t wait.
When I started this post series I said I was going to be honest, so here it goes. I have not been very good these last couple weeks about get in shape. In part it’s due to having some family in town and the other part is just being busy with work and rehearsal, but that not much of an excuse. I’m up about a pound right now. It’s not much, but it’s still the wrong direction. The good news is that now that my schedule is more fixed, I will be able to return to the gym this week. I’m actually looking forward to it. I was feeling quite a bit better on days after I had worked out. Keep with me folks, I promise I’ll get better about this and I hope to surprise more than a few of you. 74 days to NYCC.
