In which, Tracy has a cold and her voice sounds all husky and amazing. But actually, we are talking mostly about non-universe comic book movies with lots of long diversions into all kinds of other topics. We also comment on comic books that should be made into movies. Continue reading

Review: Captain America: The Winter Soldier *Spoilers*
***** SPOILER ALERT *****
This review will be discussing plot points which may be considered spoilers. Consider yourselves warned.
It’s no secret that I’m a Marvel guy. However, although I love the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Avengers and even Guardians of the Galaxy, aside from a short run by Rick Remender, I’ve never been much of a Captain America fan. I enjoyed the first Captain America movie, but I wasn’t blown away by it, and it didn’t really do anything to spark my interest in the character. Sad news this week for fans of The Simpsons. Actress Marcia Wallace died due to complications from pneumonia . Wallace is best known for her work as teacher Edna Krabappel. It’s sad to see a beloved voice actress die; even more so when they’ve been involved on a show for as long as Marcia Wallace has. I always enjoyed Ms. Krabappel’s snide comments about nearly everything.
In a fitting tribute, Fox has announced that the character will be retired, much like they did with Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz when Phil Hartman died.
For those of you who missed it, the first trailer for Captain America: Winter Soldier is out and it looks fantastic. I’m a fan of Chris Evans as Cap, and I’m looking forward to their expanding his story, especially in modern times. The inclusion of Falcon should be interesting. I’m also excited to see more of Cap kicking ass.
And remember, kids, 60% of all S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarriers crash!
Finally, an new article from IGN regarding the future of the Final Fantasy franchise. Unfortunately for me it looks as thought they are moving further and further away from the game mechanics that I enjoy most, namely the combat system. I can understand that they want to keep the games competitive and fresh, but I really preferred the older systems.
Guess I’ll just have to stick with the classic to get my kicks.
