In the Service of Absolution, Part 7
Despite the considerable repairs that were currently underway, James Lawrence had barely left his cabin since the last raid. The stock of bourbon he kept in the bottom of his desk had been getting progressively lower as well.
Michaels’ initial damage assessment had been optimistic. The port plasma reactor had suffered a near overload and would need a major overhaul before they could even think of starting it back up. There were more than two dozen power conduits that needed to be replaced as well as the transfer junctions. Thankfully, life support had tripped due to the reactor shutdowns and was easily restored. Primary gravity, on the other hand, was going to take far more work to bring back. Cargo Bay 8 was nearly a complete loss, but they couldn’t even attempt repairs until the ship was somewhere more civilized. Continue reading

Why Chris Claremont is a Horrible Person
I love the X-Men. More than any other group of comics, X-titles make up the largest percentage of my personal collection and my weekly pull. Thanks to the 90’s cartoon, they were some of the first superheroes I ever encountered. I have read a lot of classic Uncanny X-Men issues over the years, and have been forced to make one, inescapable conclusion. Chris Claremont must be a horrible human being.

Today is December 1st, and those of us Christmas fanatics can joyfully embrace every awesome hallmark of the season without feeling guilty for neglecting Halloween and Thanksgiving. I managed to keep my excitement in hand enough to wait until the day after Thanksgiving to put up my Christmas tree, but that took an inhuman helping of patience (see what I did there?).
