Today is December 1st, and those of us Christmas fanatics can joyfully embrace every awesome hallmark of the season without feeling guilty for neglecting Halloween and Thanksgiving. I managed to keep my excitement in hand enough to wait until the day after Thanksgiving to put up my Christmas tree, but that took an inhuman helping of patience (see what I did there?). Why in the World are Comics Valuable?
Recently I had a conversation with a coworker that really got me thinking. I was asking if he had heard about the recent Action Comics #1 auction, the one that went for $3.2 million. While he was not surprised to hear that particular issue went for a high price, my coworker also expressed his amazement that a comic book sold for that much at all. Knowing the man as I do, I know that he was not at all trying to be derisive but instead was trying to understand how something as simple as an old comic book could be worth millions; he is not alone.

Geek Services Review: Comixology
Recently I’ve made a pretty significant change to my life. It was a difficult decision, and it took me quite a while to think everything through. I’m talking, of course, about going all digital with my weekly comic reading. Since I’ve made the switch, I’ve been taking a closer look at the quality of the comic reading apps available, and by far the best one is Comixology.
