My Top 10 Favorite X-Men

Who doesn’t love the mutant filled soap opera that is X-Men? Of course, as with most soaps, the inevitable question of who is best and greatest is bound to pop up. With some many different titles and teams over the years, there are hundreds of different characters to choose from. These are my top 10. I’ll give you a hint, nobody on this list says “Bub” (That means no Wolverine).

Glorious, Wonderful Fluff

Though I may not be a hardcore gamer, I have been playing video games since I was five on my beloved Nintendo Entertainment System (which still works, btw). Through the last twenty-five years I have noticed that while a great in-game story and cunning gameplay are essential to a top notch experience, what puts some of my favorite games over the edge is the wonderful “fluff” that accompanies them. Q&A with Zachary Pryor and Giveaway

Therefore I Geek: Tell us a little about yourself.
Zachary Pryor: I started drawing at 4 or 5 and knew right away that it was all I wanted to do with my life. I discovered comic books at 8 and quickly worked that into my style.

Saturday Review: Extraordinary X-Men #1

It is a rare book indeed that makes me like Storm. And yet here I sit, thinking about how much I enjoyed Storm in Extraordinary X-Men #1, one of the many, post-Secret Wars books that Marvel is starting to put out.

I’m not sure exactly how this happened, but right from the get-go I found myself thinking how awesome Storm looks. She’s got a great new costume and still retains the bad-ass mohawk. The story also starts off with Storm in an interesting place. She is now headmaster of the Xavier Institute (or whatever the name happens to be in this particular iteration) and things are going badly for mutants. When one thinks about everything bad that has happened to mutants over the years, this is not really a surprise, but Storm’s attitude makes me feel like this is something different. Continue reading
