I’ve always hated when people say that the book is better than the movie. It doesn’t seem to matter how good the movie actually is, people always find some reason to complain. Maybe they left something out, or perhaps a scene was changed or god only know what else. Never mind the fact that they managed to work anywhere from thirty to twelve hundred pages into a roughly two hour movie. Please, feel free to ignore that crucial little detail. Having said all of that, I can’t think of any movie that is a better adaptation of a book than The Martian.

Review: Ant-Man
***** SPOILER ALERT *****
This review will be discussing plot points which may be considered spoilers. Consider yourselves warned.
Way back in 1963, Marvel premiered The Avengers, a new team comic featuring several of their solo heroes. Of course, in 2012 those same heroes starred in their own feature length film. Missing from that feature however, were two notable Avengers founders, Ant-Man and Wasp. Three years later Ant-Man has his very own film, and while not the smash hit that Iron Man or Captain America: The Winter Soldier were, Ant-Man makes a very pleasant addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Review: Terminator: Genisys
***** SPOILER ALERT *****
This review will be discussing plot points of movies which may be considered spoilers. Consider yourselves warned.
In case you haven’t noticed we are living in the days of the never ending franchises. It used to just be relegated to known B movie franchises, for the most part, like James Bond and Godzilla, but now it seems like every single blockbuster needs to be a trilogy and then get re-booted for three or four more. If there is one franchise the really needs to be put down it is The Terminator.
Terminator Genisys is the fifth movie in the time traveling killer robot franchise and while I don’t think any new entry will ever come close to the masterpiece of T2: Judgment Day we can at least hope for a good amount of old fashion mass property damage. I never really had any problems with T3 (other that it not being necessary), I’ve blocked out Terminator Salvation and I ignored the Sarah Conner Chronicles. As I thought about it there was nowhere for the franchise to go but up from Salvation.
